SWA Framework

The three pillars of enduring wealth stewardship

You are sovereign, but like all sovereigns, we must be mindful of constraints. True financial wealth is a product of constraints. A kite with no wind goes nowhere. A kite not tied down is lost. Understanding constraints is the beginning fabric of enduring prosperity.

Wealth is not capital. Wealth can be defined by the family or institution in different ways. And that wealth defines how we act. It is the compass that guides every decision, every allocation, every generation.

Action is useless without clarity. And yet action is everything. Once clarity is established, we must have the audacity to attack the financial destiny with conviction and precision.

Stewardship.
For generations.

Asset allocation counsel for the world's most distinguished families and institutions.

"In the last decades as an advisor, I have learned that regardless of goals and market cycles, there is no substitute for trust."

— Ali Jaffery

Former Senior Advisor to Jacob Rothschild

433 Advisors works with a maximum of eleven clients globally.

Currently serving five. Six positions remain.

Ali Jaffery

Ali Jaffery served as Senior Executive at J. Rothschild Capital Management, the investment arm of the Rothschild Family in London. In this capacity, he advised one of the world's most distinguished families on the stewardship of multi-generational wealth—a responsibility that shaped his understanding of patient capital, discretion, and the preservation of legacy across centuries.

At JRCM, Mr. Jaffery oversaw the global, multi-asset portfolio of external relationships, a role that required both strategic vision and meticulous execution. Through these connections, he initiated direct investments, co-investments, and macro overlays to enhance portfolio returns. His work encompassed the full spectrum of asset allocation—from public markets and alternatives to direct private investments across geographies and sectors.

His experience extends beyond the Rothschild family. Mr. Jaffery has advised one of the major royal families in the Middle East on wealth preservation and growth strategies, bringing the same principles of discretion and long-term thinking to sovereigns and institutions alike. Previously, he served as Director of Public Markets and Alternatives at C.M. Capital, a Palo Alto-based single-family office, where he managed sophisticated portfolios for ultra-high-net-worth families navigating complex market environments.

Mr. Jaffery has amassed over eighteen years of experience in asset management, encompassing both the buy-side and sell-side. His career began on the buy side as a generalist analyst at a long-short global equities hedge fund, where he developed the analytical rigor that would define his approach. He later conducted energy research at Goldman Sachs, gaining insight into the intersection of markets, geopolitics, and structural change.

He holds an MPA in International Monetary Policy and Finance from Columbia University, an MBA in Finance from Rutgers Business School, and a BS in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan. His academic foundation in monetary policy and international finance informs his global perspective on capital markets.

Mr. Jaffery is co-author of Hedge Fund Alpha: A Framework for Generating and Understanding Investment Performance, a work that reflects his commitment to rigorous analysis and his belief that lasting investment success is built on disciplined frameworks rather than market timing or speculation.

He serves as Senior Advisor to Marlowe Partners, a New York-based concentrated equity investment firm founded by David Steinberg.

Philosophy

433 Advisors operates on the principle that exceptional asset allocation requires deep relationships, not scale. By limiting our practice to eleven clients worldwide, we ensure that each receives the full measure of attention, insight, and discretion that multi-generational wealth demands. This is not a constraint—it is a deliberate choice that defines the nature of our work.

Our approach is rooted in the traditions established during Mr. Jaffery's tenure with the Rothschild family—patient capital, global perspective, and an unwavering commitment to preserving and enhancing wealth across generations. There is no formula for successful capital allocation. Lasting value is built through a continuous series of deliberate adjustments, executed with discipline and informed by proprietary research.

The coming decade will likely differ significantly from the past, shaped by continued innovation, shifting geopolitical dynamics, and evolving market structures. In this environment, adaptability is not optional—it is essential. We maintain a geography-, sector-, and asset-class-agnostic approach, allowing us to identify opportunities as they emerge and to position portfolios for resilience across cycles.

Our network of partnerships, built over years of tested relationships, serves as an extension of our research and investment process. These relationships are grounded in mutual understanding and create an ecosystem of knowledge that benefits our clients. We are wary of over-diversification and concentrate capital where conviction is strong, while maintaining the liquidity necessary to remain nimble during market shifts.

We do not seek to predict markets. Our research, combined with our partnerships, enables us to recognize when facts are changing and to take remedial action when warranted. The adjacency problem—the risk of subconsciously adopting others' opinions—is one we take seriously. Diligence and vigilance are the first lines of defense for any portfolio, and we interpret the subtext of recommendations with care.

The work is conducted with absolute discretion. Relationships are built on trust, cultivated over years, and sustained through alignment of interest and philosophy. We do not advertise. We do not solicit. We accept referrals from those who understand the nature of what we do.

433

The name 433 Advisors is inspired by John Cage's 1952 composition 4'33", a work that challenges conventional notions of music, performance, and silence. In Cage's piece, the performer does not play their instrument for four minutes and thirty-three seconds. What emerges is not silence, but an awareness of the ambient sounds that exist in every moment—the environment itself becomes the composition.

This philosophy resonates deeply with our approach to capital allocation. Portfolios are not static constructs to be built once and left unchanged. They are dynamic, always influenced by their environment and shaped by both active decisions and deliberate restraint. Success in asset management is not about constant activity—it is about knowing when to act and when to observe.

Just as Cage's work reminds us that silence is never truly empty, we recognize that periods of apparent inactivity in markets are filled with information. The ability to listen—to the market, to our partners, to the signals embedded in geopolitical and economic shifts—is as important as the ability to execute.

The name serves as a reminder: portfolios are living compositions, and the art lies in understanding what the environment is telling us.
